YOUTH IMPACT TRAINS MTIRA VILLAGE ON LOCALLY-MADE PLAY MATERIALS

On July 10, 2025, Youth Impact Organization held a training at Limbikani CBCC in Mtira Village, T/A Sitola, aimed at promoting early childhood development through the use of locally made play materials. The session brought together caregivers, school committee members, parents, a social welfare officer, and Youth Impact staff. The goal of the training was to help participants create safe, child-friendly learning tools using materials available within the community. These tools support children’s growth in key development areas such as literacy, creativity, coordination, and social interaction. Participants explored various play areas including the library corner, art area, science and nature, music, dramatic play, outdoor space, and sensory zones. Each section was filled with locally crafted items—like books, paints, maize cobs, dolls, and traditional instruments—that encourage learning through play. The initiative demonstrated how simple, affordable materials can make a big impact in improving early childhood education. Youth Impact continues to champion grassroots solutions that benefit both children and their communities.
