YOUTH IMPACT WRAPS UP 3-DAY LEADERSHIP REFRESHER FOR PSYCHOSOCIAL COSUNSELLOR

Youth Impact Organization has successfully finished a 3-day Leadership Refresher Training for psychosocial counsellors at Superior Lodge in Liwonde. The training started on Wednesday, 31 July 2025, and ended today, Saturday, 2 August 2025.
The training brought together community counsellors who work with adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) through the Technology and Empowerment Enhancing Networks (TEENs) project in Machinga. These counsellors lead safe spaces and offer support to girls facing different challenges.
Day by day, the sessions focused on leadership skills, conflict resolution, child rights, sexual and reproductive health, stress management, and trauma support. The training was also attended by district officials, including the District Commissioner, Director of Planning and Development, Gender Officer, Youth Officer, and other key partners.
This refresher was part of efforts to help counsellors improve their skills and continue providing quality support to AGYW in their communities. It was supported by the Embassy of Ireland through UNFPA, in partnership with the Malawi Girl Guides Association (MAGGA).
